Cake is a wonderful thing, but it does take a lot of effort to prepare. It’s kind of a drag, what with all the ingredients, measurements and cooking equipment needed to bake them. Most would probably end up buying their cakes outside. I mean, a cake is still a cake, right? While that’s all perfectly fine, it may surprise you to know that there is an easy 3-step way to make cakes at home!
Meet VoilaJars. These sweet treats come in cute little jars. They’re really fun to make, but what makes them special is how they’re also a great way to start baking. It’s as easy as 1-2-3! Totally noob-friendly.
Don’t believe us? Let’s show you how it’s done!
Step 1: Pour the oil into the jar.
The dry ingredients are already in there, so all you have to do is snip the corner off and pour the oil into the jar. No need to fuss around and measure anything. Just make sure you get all of it in there!
Step 2: Add 6 tablespoons of water.
After pouring the oil in, add 6 tablespoons of water. Don’t mess up! It’s 6 tablespoons, okay? Not 7.
Step 3: Mix it all up!
Now that all the dry and wet ingredients are in there, it’s time to mix it all up. Take a spoon and mix it all in until everything’s a nice, smooth consistency. Whew! Didn’t even break a sweat there! Toss this in the microwave, set the thing to high and nuke it for one minute. Voila! Your Jar Cake is done!
All that’s left for you to do is throw on your favorite movie or TV Show and enjoy your freshly made Jar Cake. It’s great for sharing, but we won’t judge you if you want it all to yourself. It’s also great if you like your desserts served cold.
If you’re wondering how these taste, look no further.
There are three flavors available. The first is VoilaJars’ Red Velvet Vanilla variant. There are small chunks of what appears to be white chocolate in the jar. Once cooked, the chocolate bits melt into the rest of the cake. It’s one of those melt-in-your-mouth kinds of deals.
Ah, Belgian Fudge No.5. Where do I begin with this indulgent treat? Unlike Red Velvet, this comes with regular chocolate chips. There is a sense of depth to the chocolatey goodness once cooked. We also think it goes great with a glass of milk. This one definitely takes the cake in our honest opinion.
Of course, there’s one for peanut butter lovers too! When we found two packets inside the jar, we thought there was some sort of mistake. Who put two packets of oil in my Jar Cake? When we opened it, the other extra packet was actually peanut butter! This flavor took the whole thing to another level and definitely changed the cake game for us.
It’s like slamming a Reese’s cup into a cake. Sounds weird, but it totally works.
