We invite everyone to crave good food and enjoy plant-based versions of favorite dishes! WTH Foods is for everyone - whether you’re a conscious carnivore doing a detox meatless Monday, an environmental advocate promoting sustainability or a cruelty-free vegan fighting for the animals.
We believe that plant-based foods are key to a future that’s more food-secure and environmentally responsible. However, we also understand that for many, animal-derived meat is a vital (see also delicious) part of their diet. That’s why we here at WTH Foods aim to provide options that allow y’all to continue having the same scrumptious meals that leaves plenty for future generations to come.
As we support small scale farmers who employ farming practices that support biodiversity, our WTH Foods plant-based meats and alternative proteins are sustainably made using more than 60 various local ingredients, including jackfruit and mung beans.
Our first product in 2019 was WTH Giniling which we sold in bazaars for customer feedback. “WTH?! This is not meat?!” That’s how lots would react after tasting it, and we arrived at the name “WTH Foods”. It’s also short for “Worth the Health” which represents our mission to create good food that are healthy and kind to all stakeholders - the animals, the planet and especially you!
In February 2020, we softly opened Botany, a plant based pilot kitchen by WTH Foods, where we can showcase dishes that use our WTH meats. Then in March 2020, Metro Manila was placed in a lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. We lost 70% of our business overnight, and our immediate concerns were our staff and survival. WTH foods and Botany quickly shifted to incorporate online ordering for takeouts and deliveries, and we’re happy that our consumers can now enjoy both our frozen and cooked meals in the safety of their homes.
We are also very excited when chefs and business owners partner with us to recreate their signature meaty dishes with our plant-based meat products. Swapping out their ingredients for our plant-based products, they come up with delicious creations that aren’t just healthy but also save the planet one bite at a time.
There’s a lot of things to come that we’re excited about. We are looking to expand our distribution and make our products accessible to everyone in the Philippines as we aim to get more Filipinos to #CraveGoodFood.
