Luid Lokal launched last September 2020. It started with brainstorming how to make use of extra time during the quarantine and at the same time feature local products since a lot of Filipinos are struggling to earn this pandemic so they decided to go for it and launch an online shop. When the pandemic happened, there was a big boom in the e-commerce. Luid Lokal aims to honor the heritage of our country and also help the local communities directly. Through doing this business, they help promote sustainable and green living.
More than sales, what keeps them going is their purpose to help the local community and promote local products. They are firm to only feature products made in the Philippines, made by Filipinos. In their own little ways, they are also promoting environment-friendly lifestyle by providing non-plastic products and packaging.
Luid Lokal's mission is to feature products from local communities and since their first line of products are woodwares from Pampanga, they decided to use a beautiful Kapampangan word Luid which means “Mabuhay” in tagalog. Luid Lokal means “Mabuhay Lokal” with an unofficial tagline “Celebrating Local Products”.
