Lerio Chocolates was conceptualized in late 2018 but the first line of offerings came out in 2019. They were put on display in VPO-owned establishments first then we eventually joined expos and bazaars towards the end of 2019.
Our mother company already had a cacao farm and we were selling its produce to consolidators of bigger chocolate companies. The boom of the local craft chocolate industry inspired us to create our own chocolate company, Cacao Rosario Co. The company is named Cacao Rosario Co. because the farm is located in Rosario, Agusan del Sur. The chocolate brand, however, is Lerio Chocolates. It was named after the family matriarch, Lerio Ocite. Much of the products of the farms and other business endeavors carried the name of the my dad. He had then decided it was time to name it after the love of his life.
