The Ber months have arrived, folks. This means that Christmas is right around the corner, and it’s time to start planning those gift lists.

People have different ways of working through their Christmas gift list. There are the early birds who do all their shopping online or at malls far before the Ber months even arrive; there are those that shop gradually, and then there are those who do everything last minute.

Now that September has come, we at Karton.ph want to help you get your Christmas shopping done in the most efficient way possible, no matter what that means for you. Here are some of our tips for the best times to do your shopping this year:

Payday Sales

Set aside a little of your salary each payday to buy some presents. If you want to avoid crowds at the malls or bazaars, you can do some online shopping from the comfort of your own home – even in your pajamas. If you’ve been eyeing some big-ticket or pricey products at the mall from brand-name goods as Christmas gifts, payday sales are always a good time to check if they’re on sale.

End of Season Sales

If you’re looking to gift the women in your life with clothing, shoes, and bags, end of season sales can often see a reduction in as much as 70% off the regular price. These sales usually start sometime October, and last through late November or December.

13th Month Pay

Philippine companies typically disburse 13th month pay to employees on November 30. Since you’ll have a little more cash, this is a good opportunity to get all your shopping done in one go. Well, if your list isn’t that long.

December 15-24

If there are certain presents that you have been wanting to buy (for yourself or for your loved ones), many merchants offer products at even further reductions from December 15-24 in an attempt to sell more items. Prices will continue to drop as Christmas approaches, but the variety of items will also be significantly smaller.
